The world can change in a blink of an eye. Death creates a change and the finality of it is difficult to understand.Death Did Us Part (Pokuto, 2017), an autobiographica
l story by cartoonist Harri Filppa, will be published at the festival. Comic-book tells a story of a young widowed man. The story is about grief, happiness, rage and joy although in the end, this book is a survival story. The book is based on the artist’s notes – writings, drawings and comics that were created during the grief process.
Filppa will be interviewed by Jyrki Korpua. The interview will be translated by Marja Sivonen who has also made the English translation for the book.
Maailma voi muuttua silmänräpäyksessä. Kuolema luo muutoksen, jonka lopullisuuden ymmärtäminen on vaikeaa. Festivaalilla julkaistaan Harri Filpan tositapahtumiin perustuva teos Kuolema Meidät Erotti (Pokuto, 2017).
Teos kertoo leskimiehen tarinan ja mukaan mahtuu surua, iloa, raivoa ja riemua, mutta pohjimmiltaan kirja on kuitenkin selviytymistarina. Teos on koostettu surutyön aikana tekijän tuottamista muistiinpanoista - kirjoituksista, piirroksista ja sarjakuvista.
Filppaa haastattelee Jyrki Korpua ja haastattelun kääntää kirjan englanninkielisen käännöksen toteuttanut Marja Sivonen.
