In october 2016, Oulu Comics Center organized an POP-UP Comics Center in The Reykjavík City Library. The POP-UP Comics Center were built up at Reykjavik City Library at 4.-8.9.2016, and together with Oulu Comics Center four comics artist travelled in Iceland: Jens K. Styve from Norway, Søren Mosdal from Denmark and Harri Filppa and Mari Ahokoivu from Finland. During the POP-UP Comics Center, settled up an 12hourComics-challenge, where The Reykjavík City Library were open for twelwe hours, and during that twelwe hours, comic artists created their own 12-pages comics short story. This challenge gathered together local comics artists, and many of them also finished their short stories in definite time. All completed comics were published in Ruutukaava, november 2016. POP UP Comics Center also included workshops, artist talks, lectures and a comic exhibition presenting the Oulu Nordic Comics Competition 2015 winner works with a topic Hunger of Horror. Comics meeting Dring & Draw were hosted at local pub Bikid. A constitute of Mýrin -Mooreland children’s and youthliterature festival, a finnish comic artist Mari Ahokoivu hold an workshop for childrens and youths in Nordic House. The workshop was an success, and collaborations with festivals opened new contacts for Nordic artworkers. The POP-UP Comics Center was organised with collaboration of Mýrin -Mooreland children’s and youthliterature festival and The Reykjavík City Library. The POP-UP Comics Center Reykjavik was supported by Nordisk Kulturfond.
