Comic Strip World Championships 2023 award ceremony and opening of Oulu Comics Festival
Oulu XII Comics Festival will begin at the Oulu, Finland on 10th of November at 4:00 p.m. (Eastern European Time, EET). The evening’s opening ceremony can also be followed via live stream.This time, the fourth year of the event, winners will be announced in the Comic Strip World Championship competition. In addition to the world champion and the 2nd place runner up will receive fame and glory. The winners will be interviewed by the host Sami Nyyssölä.

JP Ahonen (Finland), Anneli Furmark (Sweden) and Søren Mosdal (Denmark) will arrive to be interviewed. This year the comics residency organized by Oulu Comics Center and the Liminka School of Arts welcomes the resident artist Shpend Bengu (Albania) to tell us about his work.
Greetings to the Oulu Comics Festival and the Comic Strip World Championships will be sent by Justin “Nordic Thunder” Howard (United States).
Comic Strip World Championships 2023 -palkintoseremonia ja Oulun Sarjakuvafestivaalin avajaiset
Oulun 12. Sarjakuvafestivaali alkaa Oulussa, Suomessa 10. marraskuuta klo 16.00 Itä-Euroopan aikaa (EET). Illan avajaisia voi seurata myös suorana lähetyksenä.
Tänä vuonna, tapahtuman neljäntenä vuotena, voittajat julkistetaan Comic Strip World Championship -kilpailussa. Maailmanmestari ja toiseksi sijoittunut saavat mainetta ja kunniaa. Voittajat haastatellaan juontaja Sami Nyyssölän toimesta.

Sarjakuvauutuuksien julkistaminen | Comic books release
Valvegalleriassa tarjoillaan Oulun Sarjakuvafestivaalikävijöille ja muille ohikulkijoille usean teoksen yhteisjulkkarit. Tervetuloa juhlistamaan tekijöiden kanssa uutuuksia ja hankkimaan vaikka koko tuore kahdeksikko signeerauksien kera.
At the Valve Gallery, multiple works are on display for the joint book release event, welcoming Oulu Comics Festival attendees and passersby. Come celebrate the new releases with the creators and maybe even acquire the entire fresh octet with their signatures.

Tilaisuuden aluksi Oulun Sarjakuvaseura r.y. myöntää Skrew You! -tunnustuspalkinnon pohjoisen sarjakuvan eteen tehdystä työstä. Palkinnon luovuttaa yhdistyksen puheenjohtaja Anneli Moilanen.
The evening will be hosted by Kumiorava, Zum Teufel, Suuri Kurpitsa, Nordic Manga ja Pokuto.
To kick off the event, Oulu Comics Society will present the Skrew You! recognition award for the contributions to Northern comics. The award will be handed over by the society's chairperson, Anneli Moilanen.

Drink'N'Draw - Sarjakuvatapaaminen
Festivaaliperjantaina sarjakuvafestivaaliväki kokoontuu perinteisesti pienimuotoiseen illanviettoon piirtämisen merkeissä.Pääsymaksuton ja K18.
On Friday during the festival, comics festival attendees gather for a traditional, small-scale social evening with drawing. The entry is free and adults only.
