Invitation letter with more details

The Arctic Comics Seminar is the first step on the way to northern network of comics.

Since now, cooperation around comics is not established in the Arctic areas in Northern Europe. The objective of the Arctic Comics Network is to start cooperation around cartoons. Members of the Network will have an opportunity to contact each other and begin an active exchange of comics exhibitions, lecturers, residencies, and teachers.

The Arctic Comics Seminar is aimed for people and organizations who are eager to spread the joy of comics in their own communities – or at least them, who want to know, how could it be done.

Representatives of culture and art institutions can hear about cooperation and synergy between different societies and organizations and Oulu Comics Center. Also, we think that the story of Oulu Comics Center and Helsinki Comics Center could inspire other comic associations, too.

We believe that comics can make a difference. It can be used as a tool, as a free time hobby. It can learn you things, you might earn your living with it. It gives you joy and it expands your world. The possibilities of cartoons are endless. That is why the Arctic Comics Network is started with the Seminar of 2014.
