MASTER COURSE: Inking with the traditional French/Belgium style
Amr Mohammed Talaat is egyptian cartoonist selected to the first Comic artist in residency programme organized together with Liminka School of Arts and Oulu Comics Center. During the residency Amr is working with his exhibition presented as a part of the Comics Effects exhibition at Oulu Museum of Arts on December 2-10. During his stay Amr is also creating his own comic album that deals the struggle with the visa application.
Amr works vary from children comics to political daily satir. In his graphic stories he has a unique storytelling style to convay two scenario through the story.
During the 5 day long Master Course organized in Liminka School of Arts Amr will guide the participants to charachter design and inking with the traditional French-Belgium style both in wacoom and with traditional nip. The master course will include open lectures, drawing demonstrations and face-to-face guidance. The ready comics will be published on a online comic magazine Ruutukaava hosted by Oulu Comics Center.
Amr Mohammed Talaat (b. 1978) is currently working as Head of Caricature department at Tahrir newspaper in Cairo. He also works as an Instructor in fine arts Mansoura University, Egypt. Amr Mohammed Talaat is also doing caricaturist and Illustrator in several Egyptian and Arabic Magazines. He has graduated from the bachelor degrees in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, Egypt. Amr is working on his PHD in the program of Faculty of Fine Arts - Helwan University Cairo/Egypt. Amr is a member of a Syndicate of plastic arts and a member of syndicate of journalists, Cairo, Egypt.
