Place an exhibition?<\/li>\n<li>Give a workshop?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oulu Comics Festival is the place for all of these! Send your ideas to us via e-mail: harri (at) oulucomics.com.<\/p>\n<h3 data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Oulu Comics Festival \u2013 Thoughts on Programming and the Festival Year<\/h3>\n<p>Here we share some insights into our programming choices and the annual rhythm of the Oulu Comics Festival.<\/p>\n<h3>Previous Year and Spring Programming<\/h3>\n<p>Artist and exhibition selections for <strong>main exhibitions and featured guests<\/strong> are made during the <strong>previous year<\/strong> and the <strong>spring leading up to the festival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to propose a program of your own, we recommend contacting us <strong>as early as possible<\/strong> \u2013 <em>no later than the end of July<\/em>, preferably in spring.<\/p>\n<p>Later participation may still be possible, but <strong>early contact increases your chances and helps secure your place<\/strong>. Please note that exhibition and program slots are <strong>selected case by case<\/strong>, and participation is <strong>not automatic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We aim to publish the festival program <strong>in September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Comics Oasis Forms in Early Autumn<\/h3>\n<p>The Comics Oasis \u2013 our marketplace for comics \u2013 is also open for registration. Please register <strong>no later than the end of September<\/strong>, and preferably earlier.<\/p>\n<p>If the sales spaces are filled, we will inform about it, and it\u2019s still possible to join a waiting list. <strong>Exhibitors will be announced in mid-October.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>POP UP Exhibitions Are an Essential Part of the Event<\/h3>\n<p>Many <strong>POP UP exhibitions<\/strong> take place throughout the festival area. If you\u2019d like to take part, we encourage also offering <strong>stage content<\/strong>, as we try to pair exhibitions with performances when possible.<\/p>\n<p>That said, this is not mandatory \u2013 we also <strong>appreciate unique and experimental ideas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>POP UP exhibition spots are <strong>limited<\/strong>, so please act <em>early<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>Side Events Enrich the Festival<\/h3>\n<p>We gladly include <strong>side events<\/strong> such as <strong>exhibitions, clubs and other happenings<\/strong> that take place outside the main festival area.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to notify the organizers <strong>in good time<\/strong>. We coordinate schedules to help <strong>avoid overlapping events<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>What We Value in Programming<\/h3>\n<p>We love <strong>new releases and northern perspectives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are especially interested in works <strong>published after the previous festival<\/strong> \u2013 our goal is to present <em>fresh comics and titles from this year.<\/em> Festival premieres are <strong>always welcome<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A northern perspective is important to us<\/strong>, and it&#8217;s a clear advantage in the selection process. It\u2019s not mandatory \u2013 but <em>if your heart beats for the North, it takes you far.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bring your idea \u2013 even the wildest ones:<\/strong> If you want to propose a program for us, don\u2019t worry about whether it has <strong>walls, floors, a ceiling or even gravity.<\/strong> Let\u2019s bring the wildest ideas to life \u2013 within the means and resources we have.<\/p>\n<h3>Confirmed Dates and Venues for Oulu Comics Festival<\/h3>\n<p><strong>14\u201316 November 2025<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Cultural Centre Valve, Hallituskatu 7, Oulu<br \/>\n<\/em><strong>20\u201322 November 2026<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Central Library, Kaarlenv\u00e4yl\u00e4 3, Oulu<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, not all proposals can be included in the final program.
