In this competition the contestants will have five days to create a comic strip with a given theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Theme 2024<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s theme is <strong>VISION<\/strong>! <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/visioncomicstrip\/\" target=\"_blank\">#visioncomicstrip<\/a> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/oulucomics\/\" target=\"_blank\">@oulucomics<\/a>. Instagram is the only way to participate in the competition and submitted work needs to fit into a single post. The post must be public. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/help.instagram.com\/442418472487929\" target=\"_blank\">Here are instructions to publish your work on Instagram<\/a>. <strong>Confirm your participation by submitting your work to the competition with this form&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participant Rules<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All work must be previously unpublished.<\/li><li>The comics must be created in response to the theme.<\/li><li>The format and style of the comic strip is unrestricted, however the text should be in English to facilitate judging.<\/li><li>Pre-registration is not required and questions about technical issues will not be answered.<\/li><li>The work must be public on Instagram and sent using the form on this page, which is available at the time of the competition.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Jury<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury is made up of comic multitalents and cartoonists selected from at least three continents. The five person jury will work virtually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The members of the jury:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/peter_snejbjerg\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Peter Snejbjerg<\/strong><\/a> (Denmark)<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/greenfield_comic\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Hyejeon Jeon<\/strong><\/a> (Republic of Korea) <\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cultural.fi\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Veli-Matti Ural<\/strong><\/a> (Finland)<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/chechulacupova\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Kate\u0159ina \u010cupov\u00e1<\/strong><\/a> (Czech Republic) <\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/letsgorodrigo\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rodrigo Vargas<\/strong><\/a> (Chile) <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rules for Jury<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The maximum number of points awarded by one judge for one work is 20 points, the highest and lowest judge results are left out, and the points given by three remaining judges are added to make the total point score. The maximum score is 60 points.<\/li><li>The decisions of the jury cannot be appealed.<\/li><li>Late entries will be considered, but in the points calculation system (copied from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ski_jumping\" target=\"_blank\">ski jumping<\/a>) we will deduct 1.8 points from the final score per each hour surpassing the time limit September 25th, 2023 at 4:59pm.<\/li><li>The jury has a secretary nominated by the Oulu Comics Festival.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Winners 2024<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners will be announced at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oulucomics.com\/fi\/fest\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"12\">Oulu thirth Comics Festival<\/a> on <strong>November 15th, 2024 at 5:00 pm (EET)<\/strong>.
