    Ilpo Koskela: Lights on! Historia eloon sarjakuvan keinoin

    Suomen ja Viron Metsähallitusten Lights On! -projektissa muinaiskohteiden historiaa tuodaan esille kuvitusten ja sarjakuvan avulla. Valmiit työt käännöksineen ovat luettavissa 100 cm leveänä tauluna itse paikassa, johon tarina tunnistettavasti liittyy. Osa töistä esitellään mobiiliversioiden kuvituksina, joita vieraat pääsevät tutkimaan paikan päällä QR-koodin omaan älylaitteeseensa kuvaamalla. Kohteita on neljä Suomessa ja neljä Virossa.

    Ilpo Koskela     sai luettavakseen kohteiden historiasta kertovia kirjoja sekä teksti- ja kuvareferenssi-informaatiota, joita käyttäen hän käsikirjoitti kuudesta yhdeksään 1–4-ruutuista sarjakuvatarinaa jokaisesta kohteesta. Projekti eteni synopsiksista lyijykynäluonnoksiin sekä niistä historian tuntijoiden sekä arkeologien kommentoinnin ja korjausehdotusten kautta valmiiksi paino-originaaleiksi. Valmiit taulut ovat jo luettavissa eri kohteissa.

    The Lights On! Program by Metsähallitus and RMK from Estonia brings ancient history alive through the power of comics. Finished works included with translations can be read as pictures 100 centimeters in length located at a place which is heavily connected with the historical story. Some of the works will be presented as illustrations for mobile versions that can be read by scanning QR codes. There's four attractions in Finland and also four in Estonia.

    Ilpo Koskela has made from six to nine comic book stories of each of the historical places. He's artistic process included researching history from the pages of books and examining sketches with archaeologists.  The finished products are already at the right attractions.

    Koskela will showcase his exhibition to everyone on Sunday 25th of November at 3 pm

     

The Oulu Comics Center has panels for every day to look, to read, to borrow, to buy and to draw. In the Comics Library, Sarjasto, you can experience panel filled moments and marvel on the spot or borrow and take home. Street art brings a riot of colors to the streets and fairways. The Oulu Comics Festival fills the city with panels once again in this year. The festival is the largest annual comics event in the arctic region. The capital of Northern Comics is a lively and inspiring meeting place in the field of comics culture.
